Alloy wheel refinishing.

Wheel WorX Alloy Wheel Refinishing is a new name in the Alloy wheel business. The company is completely mobile and ready to come to you to refinish those tired looking or corroded aluminium rims. Wheel Worx can carry out the work at your location or can collect your rims and return them to you when they are refinished. Absolutely anything is possible with your wheels as there are so many new paints on the market. You can change colour from the original factory silver, use textured or chrome effect paints or have  the wheels custom painted to your specs with 2 or more colours.

Our Process

The wheel worx process starts with the vehicle being jacked up and put on axle stands, the wheels are then removed and taken to the mobile blasting unit, where they are blasted with environmentally friendly recycled glass beads to remove all clear coats and paints to leave a bare aluminium finish- any curb rash or marks are then removed and coated with sandable primer.

The next step is to apply your chosen colour to the wheels, this is done with a 2 coat process. When the rim is newly coloured, a coat of clear is applied which is followed by a further 2 coats of clear to give a good shine and a greater protection than a factory finished wheel (which in most cases has 1 coat of paint and 2 coats of clear).

Aftermarket rims are cheaper and may seem like a good idea at the time but they generally have only 1 coat of paint and clear, leading to corrosion problems less than a year after purchase, largely due to the Atlantic Region weather and road conditions.

When the wheels have been dried under the heat lights in the blasting unit the wheel is then ready to go back on your vehicle giving it a whole new look.

Major vehicle manufacturers issue repair bulletins to dealerships regarding aluminium wheels and explain acceptable wheel refinishing methods, these are available to view on the internet.  They do not allow the use of lathes, any kind of welding repairs, chemicals or sanding. They allow blasting wheels using environmentally friendly glass beads, re-coloring and applying finish coats………………

This is exactly what wheel worx does!
